Arrival & Departure
Fixed-wing circuit: 1000 ft QFE

Standard OHJ at 2000 ft. Crosswind join above upwind end of runway.
Helicopter circuit: 600 ft QFE. Join at AD boundary or via heli circuit → Heli E/W. Depart Heli E/W at 600 ft AAL until clear of the circuit.
Noise Abatement:
RWY 36: turn right at aerodrome boundary onto a track of 030° towards the University Campus, climb to 1000 ft before turning crosswind
RWY 18: turn right crosswind between Loxley village & Ettingley Farm, south of lake/houses.
RWY 05: left turn 030°, avoid Wellesbourne village.
Closures: RWY 05/23 closed Fri 1600–Sun 1000, and until Tue 1000 on BH weekends (market).
Grass strip: 506 x 30 m, west of RWY 18/36. PPR only, no simultaneous operations with main runway.
Radio Failure: UK AIP ENR 1.1. Standard procedures apply. OHJ 2000 ft (fixed wing), heli join from W at 600 ft. Observe light signals.
Other restrictions:
No non-radio aircraft (normally).
No touch-and-go/stop-and-go after 1700 (except winter night training).
Avoid Snitterfield Gliding Site (4.5 NM NW, cables to 2400 ft).
Only one visiting aircraft in circuit at a time (book online in advance).

Airfield Communications & Procedures
Use Birmingham listening squawk 0010 and monitor 123.980 MHz when flying locally outside the ATZ & outside controlled airspace.
Avoid overflying local villages (Wellesbourne, Charlecote, Hampton Lucy, Loxley).
Fixed-wing circuit height: 1000 ft QFE
RWY 36 & 05: Left-hand circuits
RWY 18 & 23: Right-hand circuits
Helicopter circuit height: 600 ft QFE
Standard overhead join at 2000 ft QFE, join crosswind above runway or direct join if traffic permits.
Runway 05/23 closed Fridays 16:00 until Sundays 10:00, and closed until Tuesdays 10:00 on Bank Holiday weekends (due to market).
Radio failure: Follow UK AIP ENR 1.1.3.4.2 procedures; fixed-wing join overhead at 2000ft QFE, then circuit dead side, join downwind at 1000ft QFE. Rotary aircraft join low level at 600ft AGL.
Touch-and-go and practice go-around manoeuvres are not permitted outside of published operational hours
Only one non-based aircraft may operate in the circuit at a time; booking essential.
- IFR departures will be co-ordinated by the AFISO with London TCC, Western Radar or Birmingham Radar on submission of a valid IFR Flight Plan
- Aerodrome does not meet criteria for training outside published hours of operation
